Première étape : de Delhi, se rendre à Chandigarh ou Shimla.
- Chandigarh : 260 km de Delhi. Accessible par train, par bus
(Volvo air conditionné - 515 roupies), ou par avion (grâce à des compagnies classiques ("air
india") ou low cost ("spicejet", dans ce cas attention aux bagages car les low
cost limitent à 15 kilos en soute).
- Shimla : 385 km de Delhi. Accessible par train (un changement à
Kalka pour prendre le "toy train", petit train typique peu
confortable et qui avance lentement le voyage est donc assez long) ou par bus
(Volvo air conditionné - 827 roupies).

Deuxième étape :
- De Chandigarh se rendre à Reckong Peo (situé à 360 km de
Chandigarh et 10 km de Kalpa) par bus semi delux (départ de la station située
au secteur 43 - 640 roupies). Ensuite prendre un taxi (450 roupies) ou un mini bus (15 roupies) pour rejoindre Kalpa.
- De Shimla : se rendre à Reckong Peo (239 km de Shimla) par bus (il n'existe que des bus ordinaires donc fort peu confortable - 350 roupies).
De Chandigarh ou de Shimla il est possible de louer une
voiture avec chauffeur pour venir directement à Kalpa. C'est la solution la
plus chère (de 4500 à 7000 roupies de Shimla) mais c'est aussi la plus confortable et qui vous
garanti une grande liberté au niveau des horraires.

Si vous devez passer une nuit à Delhi nous vous conseillons
de réserver dans l'une des nombreuses guest house de Majnu Ka Tilla le quartier
tibétain. Le rapport qualité/prix y est très bon et ce quartier est situé tout
près de la station de bus Kashmere Gate (ISBT : Inter State Bus Terminal) d'où
partent les bus pour Chandigarh et Shimla.
Si vous devez passer une nuit à Chandigarh, nous vous
conseillons de dormir à la station de bus située secteur 43. C'est de là que
partent les bus pour Reckong Peo et différents types d'hébergements sont
possibles, dortoir ou chambre climatisés, ainsi que des restaurants.
Si vous devez passer une nuit à Shimla, nous vous conseillons
de réserver dans l'un des hôtels situés sur ou à proximité du "mall".
